Peppermint Chocolate Chip Cookies
















There's nothing more festive than candy canes, am I right? Those sweet, delicious, red and white striped treats put us in the perfect mood for green trees, colorful lights, sleigh bells,and a warm mug of cocoa. Yes, it's not the Holiday's without your first candy cane!

Now, imagine taking all that delicious, peppermint flavor we love in candy canes, crushing it up, and baking it into the perfect chocolate chip cookie. Warm, moist, and full of all that Holiday flavor, this cookie is more than just a combination of two winter-time favorites. It's the beginning of a new Holiday tradition in your family! Best of all, this cookie is made with our delicious, premium Yellow White Cake mix! A cookie...made with cake mix...infused with candy canes! Yup, that sounds like the perfect treat for your Christmas season! Get ready, it's time to bake up some Peppermint Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Ingredients:
3 cups Honeyville Yellow White Cake Mix
1/2 cup Butter, melted
1 Egg
1/2 tsp Peppermint Extract
1/2 tsp Vanilla
4 oz Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup Crushed Candy Canes
1/2 cup Dark Chocolate Chips

Yields: 24 cookies

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cookie-Dough











In a large bowl, combine cake mix, butter, egg, and extracts. Beat until soft. Add cream cheese and beat gently until combined and a soft dough forms.

Candy-Canes











Place candy canes in a large resealable bag and use a rolling pin to crush into pieces.

Candy-Cane-pieces











Add chocolate chips and candy cane pieces to dough and gently fold in until completely combined. Place dough in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.

Remove, form dough balls, and place on your USA Pan Cookie Sheet.

Baked-Cookies











Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove cookies when they are still soft. Do not over bake. Let cookies cool on cookie sheet before removing.

Because it is in my pantry, could I just use a regular boxed mix of yellow cake mix? These sound amazing.

Hi Curiositydidit! Yes, you can definitely use a regular box of yellow cake mix! You've got to try our yellow/white cake mix though. Super moist and so delicious!
