Chocolate Peppermint Bundt Cake

What are your favorite Holiday combinations? You know, those two things that when combined, create an amazing, overwhelming Holiday season.

Turkey and Stuffing, spruces and pine, Holly and colored lights, whatever the dynamic duo, nothing compares to the combinations we find coming from the kitchen this time of year. One combination in particular that I love during the Holidays is rich chocolate and smooth peppermint! I mean, is there anything better? Whether in a cookie, cake, or just for dipping, nothing goes together better than candy canes and dark cocoa! Perhaps that's what led me to this tasty treat. With Christmas right around the corner, this may just be the dish your Holiday season has been waiting for! Best of all, it's made with our amazing Yellow White Cake mix and awesome Baker's Cocoa! Grab a pan, it's time for Chocolate Peppermint Bundt Cake!

Ingredients:
1 cup Sour Cream
4 Eggs
1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup Oil
1/4 tsp Peppermint Extract
1 1/2 cups Mini Chocolate Chips

Topping:
8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
1/4 cup Butter, softened
1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
1/2 tsp Peppermint Extract
1/2 tsp Vanilla
3 Candy Canes, crushed

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Dry-Mix

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, baker's cocoa, and chocolate pudding mix, and whisk together until fully combined.

Batter

Next, add sour cream, eggs, water, oil, and peppermint extract and blend until a thick batter forms. Gently fold in chocolate chips until fully combined.

Batter-in-Pan

Add batter to a greased bundt cake pan and place in oven.

Baked-Cake

Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes. Remove and allow to cool 15-20 minutes before removing form pan.

Frosting

While cake is cooling, make topping by combining cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, peppermint extract and vanilla together in a bowl and whisking together with an electric hand mixer until a smooth frosting forms.

Frosted-Cake

Pipe frosting on to cake, then sprinkle crushed candy canes on top. Slice and serve.

Peppermint-Cake

This cake is full of all the chocolate, peppermint flavor your Holiday heart can desire! The rich, moist flavor and texture of the bundt cake is absolutely amazing, while the peppermint cream cheese frosting on top makes the whole thing out of this world! Serve this up for Christmas day, or any last-minute Holiday get together's you may have. Trust us, you'll love it.
