Red Velvet Sugar Cookie Bars
















Cake or cookie? Both are delicious. Both bring joy to any Holiday get together. So then why should we have to choose? Why can't we have our cake and cookie and eat them too?

We're here to tell you that yes, you can have both without having the guilt of eating two desserts! How, you ask? By combining the two into one amazing, decadent dish! That's right, a cake cookie, and believe it or not, it's a lot easier to make than you think!

Using our versatile Alta Artisan flour, combined with our Baker's Cocoa Powder, we've created the perfect blend of light, fluffy cake with moist, soft sugar cookies that your Holiday guests simply won't be able to resist. Plus, they look absolutely amazing! Grab your apron, it's time to bake up some Red Velvet Sugar Cookie Bars!

Ingredients:
3 1/3 cups Honeyville Alta Artisan Flour
1/4 cup Honeyville Baker's Cocoa 
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 cup Butter, softened
1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla
2 Tbsp Red Food Coloring

Cream Cheese Frosting:
16 oz Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup Butter, softened
2 cups Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baker's cocoa, salt, and baking powder.

Red-Velvet











In a separate bowl, combine butter and sugar and whisk together with an electric hand mixer until light and creamy. Add eggs, vanilla, and food coloring and whisk until completely combined.

Dough











Add flour ingredients to mixture and stir until a thick dough forms.

Dough-in-Pan











Take your USA Pan Rectangular Cake Pan and line with foil. Gently press dough into pan until it is evenly distributed.

Baked-Cookies











Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove and allow to cool completely before frosting.

Frosting











To make frosting, add cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla to a large bowl and whisk together with an electric hand mixer until a creamy frosting forms.

Frosting-on-Cookies











Spread frosting evenly over bars. Remove bars from cake pan using the tin foil, then slice and serve.

Sugar-Cookies
