I love Autumn, don't you? The crisp, cool air. The changing color of the leaves. And, above all, the fresh, delicious apples coming in to season. I tell you nothing beats a freshly picked apple on a cool fall day!

Thankfully, we don't have to wait for the leaves to change in order to enjoy that fresh-picked apple taste. That's because our Freeze Dried Apples taste fresh and delicious any time of the year. Just open a can, take a taste, and immediately your palate is transported to an aromatic apple orchard on a cool autumn day. Yes, it's true, these apples are awesome!

Today's recipe is just what you've been looking for to get in the fall mood. We took all the great taste of our Freeze Dried Apples, baked in our easy and versatile Fagor Pressure Cooker, and created an Autumn-time masterpiece! Fall doesn't get any better than this! Enjoy our Food Storage Apple Butter!

Ingredients:
7 cups Honeyville Freeze Dried Apples
1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
1 1/2 cups Apple Cider
3 Tbsp Cinnamon
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1/4 tsp Ground Cloves
2 cups Water

Yields: 4 Jelly Jars

Directions:
First, combine all your ingredients.

In your Fagor Pressure Cooker, add your apples, brown sugar, cider, cinnamon, lemon juice, cloves, and water, stir 2-3 times until ingredients are fully combined, then lock lid on top.

Set pressure cooker to "High Pressure" at 90 minutes, then press start.

Once cooker is finished, release pressure, then stir ingredients 1-2 times.

In a food processor or blender, pour ingredients and process until butter is smooth.

Pour into jelly jars, and refrigerate for a longer shelf life.

The sweet taste and creaminess of the butter is perfect spread over a slice of toast or on top of a bagel. This is what fall was meant to taste like.

This presentation is so pretty. Makes me want to make some right now. But I do have to wait until tomorrow. I will use this on homemake pancakes and homemade biscuits. Ummm...

Hello, Elaine. Yes, you're able to use fresh apples, however you would have to adjust the amount of water used since fresh apples already contain some water. I'd say to reduce the amount of water used to 1 1/2 instead of 2 cups. Let us know how it turns out!
