Apple Cinnamon Quinoa Bites














Fall is just around the corner, and that can mean only one thing. Apples! Those sweet, red, gold, and green globes of deliciousness are nearly upon us, as orchards across the country prepare for apple picking season!

For us here at Honeyville, apple season is really an all year event, thanks to our delicious Freeze Dried Apples. Today, we thought we'd get you in the apple picking mood, without having to drive to your local orchard or farm stand. Using our always-ready-to-use Freeze Dried Apples and our super healthy Organic Quinoa, we've created a cinnamon sweet treat that will have you reaching for your favorite fall scarf...even if it still may be 100 degrees outside! Get ready, it's Apple Cinnamon Quinoa Bites time!

Ingredients:
1 cup Honeyville Organic Quinoa, cooked
1 cup Honeyville Quick Rolled Oats
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp Sugar
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Apples
2 Eggs

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Quinoa and Oats











In a large mixing bowl combine cooked quinoa and quick oats and mix together.

Sugar, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg











In a small bowl, combine and whisk together cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and sugar.

Quinoa Bites Ingredients











Add re-hydrated apples, cinnamon/sugar mix, and 2 beaten eggs to quinoa/oats and mix together until a sticky batter forms.

Batter in Muffin Tray











Using a greased muffin tray, scoop out a spoonful of batter and place in each tray.

Baked Bites











Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, or until tops are a very light golden color.

Remove and allow to cool before serving.
