Spring is almost here! The birds have begun singing, the air is clear, and everything feels fresh, new, and alive! Spring time is one of the best times of the year, so you want to make sure you enjoy it with the perfect homemade treat!

For me, nothing gets me in the spring mood like strawberries. Sweet, juicy, and delicious, everything about strawberries just screams Springtime! You can imagine how excited I was to get my hands on our newest product here at Honeyville, Organic Freeze Dried Strawberries.

Let me tell you, these things are awesome! Light, crisp, delicious, and completely organic, they are the perfect berries for any spring time recipe. Today we're using them to make delicious Strawberry Scones, but you could add them to any recipe you like. The results will always be delicious and amazing. So let's get Springtime started off right by making some delicious, divine Strawberry Scones!

Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups Honeyville All Purpose Flour
1/4 cup Sugar
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
3/4 cup Honeyville Organic Freeze Dried Strawberries
2/3 cup Greek Plain Yogurt
3 Tbsp Butter, melted
1/2 tsp Orange zest
1 Egg

Glaze:
1 cup Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
3 Tbsp Heavy Cream

Makes 12 scones

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, and whisk together until completely combined.

In a medium bowl, add yogurt, butter, egg, and zest, and mix until a wet batter forms.

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until a solid dough ball forms.

In a separate bowl, sprinkle water on strawberries for a light-hydration. You don't want them soggy, just moist enough to work with.

Make a bowl in your dough and place strawberries in the bowl, then knead until completely combined.

Roll dough out into a rectangle shape on your counter or kitchen surface.

Using a dough scraper, cut scones into triangle shapes.

Place on a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes.

While scones are cooling, make your glaze by whisking ingredients together. Using a sandwich bag, pipe glaze on top of scones, then serve.

These scones are exactly what you've been looking for on a beautiful Spring morning. Light, flakey, and full of flavor, these scones are both sweet and savory at the same time. Grab one for breakfast, snag one for an afternoon snack, or serve them up as a sweet after-dinner dessert. However you choose, you'll love this super easy, yet super delicious recipe!

Spring is in the air, and so is the smell of fresh strawberry scones!
