Homemade Barbecue Sauce Recipe

There's no substitution for great Barbecue Sauce! That's a lesson I learned quickly while living in Texas a few years back.

Perhaps one of the greatest states for Barbecue, I came to realize that just as important as the meat, smoke, and wood, the right Barbecue sauce can make all the difference. That "right sauce" can also vary from place to place, and even person the person.

Whether sweet, sassy, smokey, spicy, or tangy, lathered up or barely even on, the sauce is really what makes the meal. Find the right combination and you're locked into Barbecue Bliss! Get it wrong, and, well, you just may be packing your bags and heading back to momma's house! Today we definitely got it right! Made with our extremely versatile Tomato Powder, we've got a sauce recipe that we know will leave your lips smackin' and your soul clappin'! And the best part is that it's super easy to make. Grab some extra wet wipes, it's time to create some Homemade Barbecue Sauce!

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup Honeyville Tomato Powder
1 cup Water
1 cup Light Corn Syrup
1 cup + 2 Tbsp White Vinegar
2 Tbsp Apple Cider
2 Tbsp White Sugar
6 Tbsp Brown Sugar
4 Tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
4 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
6 Garlic Cloves, minced.
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

Directions:
Place a medium sauce pan on your stove top and heat at medium-low.

Combine all ingredients and stir continually.

Make sure to keep stirring at medium heat for 15-20 minutes, or until you feel the ingredients are completely combined and the texture is to your liking.

Take off heat, cover, and let cool for 15 minutes or so.

Remove, store in container of your choosing, or use it immediately on your favorite foods.

The taste of this sauce is simply out of this world! The flavor combination hits your palate like troopers storming a beach, with the perfect blend of sweet and savory. Just as you're getting use to the taste, a blast of tangy-ness hits your mouth, with just a hint of garlic, giving you the perfect satisfaction your taste buds have been looking for. Slather this up on your favorite Barbecue meats, smear it on a sandwich, or simply dunk your fries, tots, or onion rings right on in. This sauce goes great with any recipe your heart can imagine!

Yes, there really is no substitution for great Barbecue Sauce. And believe me, this is the sauce you won't want to live without!

This looks delicious. Can I use tomato powder as a substitute for tomatoes in home canning? Sure would be a lot easier than preparing fresh tomatoes.

The tomato powder works amazing in any recipe or meal that calls for fresh tomatoes. Not only does it make great barbecue sauce and ketchup, it creates delicious pasta and marinara sauces every time! And it's so easy to use!

Getting my canner and jars ready. Much easier than trying to remove all those slimy seeds. Thank you!
