Summer Green Beans with Bacon Recipe

Some of my favorite summertime meals are the simplest!  Growing up we'd have sliced garden tomatoes and cucumbers, corn on the cob, and green beans with bacon.  It was delicious and not too heavy after a day in the hot sun.  Now I can enjoy this summertime favorite all year round thanks to Honeyville Freeze Dried Green Beans and Bacon Flavored TVP!  Another huge bonus to using TVP is neither my house nor I smell like frying bacon after I am done cooking!

Ingredients:
(the amount of each will vary depending on how many you want to serve and personal preference)
Honeyville Freeze Dried Green Beans
Honeyville Bacon Flavored TVP
Butter (optional)

Directions:
First add the green beans to boiling water.

Let the veggies boil for just one or two minutes, just until they are completely re-hydrated and hot.  They'll brighten right up!

Drain well.  If desired, toss with a little bit of butter.

Sprinkle the top with the desired amount of TVP (not rehydrated).

Serve while hot and enjoy!

What's your favorite summertime side?

Happy Eating!
