This class is perfect for you "Valley of the Sun" residents!  Learn how to prepare amazing dishes by harnessing the power of the sun with the increasingly popular Sun Oven.

Saturday July 16 10AM Universal Sauce Basics Class by Shirley J
What is Universal Sauce?  It can be used for a variety of things--as Alfredo or gravy, in casseroles and pasta, for soup and sauces.  It's a no-fail guarantee for gourmet taste.  Shirley J's Universal Sauce never separates, lumps or curdles (even if simmered for hours).  Here's to simplifying and managing your pantry!

Saturday July 9 10AM Marlene's Magic Food Storage Step 1 & 2
Daneen Rugles, Marlene's daughter, will be teaching this fun class.   Step 1 is basic items: wheat, powdered milk, oil, salt, honey or sugar and water.  You'll learn what you can make with just these items.  Now incorporate Step 2 by adding: eggs and leavening agents and you'll have lots more of what you can make!  Cost is $5 per person or $7 per couple.
 
Saturday July 16 10AM Sprouting with Allison Cutler
What is sprouting?  How do you do it?  Why is sprouting important for your diet?  What is wheat grass and how do I grow it?  Do these questions sound familiar?  If you've ever wondered about sprouting come and learn all about it!  Allison will also be sharing some recipes using sprouts.

Saturday July 23 10AM Alternative Cooking: Sun Ovens, BBQ's and Dutch Ovens
If you don't have your kitchen to cook in what can you do?  During the HOT summer months it's great to know how to cook outdoor so you don't heat up your homes.  Come learn how to use the Sun Oven, Dutch Ovens, BBQ's and many others.

Friday July 15 10AM Beginner Bread Making Class with Terry Montgomery
Terry Montgomery started his pastry career back in 1996 at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City baking for The Roof and Garden Restaurants as well as making creations for the banquets.  Later he moved on to continue his creations at the Gastronomy Restaurant Inc. creating for their seven fine restaurants.  There he specialized in the French Pastries.  So with his 6 years of experience in the restaurant scene, he decided to move his family to the Tremonton area, where his is continuing to teach and bake with his wife and two daughters.  Come learn from the best!

Tuesday July 19 10AM Food Preservation Update
This class you'll learn about the "major canning sins" and current food preservation resources and techniques.  Plan on joining Ann Henderson from the USU Extension for this class.  Pressure canner gauges will be tested for $1 following the class.

Thursday July 28 4PM Volcano Stoves Demonstration
Brandon Payne from Volcano Stoves will be here to demonstrate how easy it is to use a volcano stove and the benefits of having one for emergency preparedness.

Tuesday July 5 11AM Bread Making-Beyond the Basics!
Let's pull that wheat grain apart and find out what goes, or doesn't go, into different types of four and how it will affect the way your bread turns out.  Our very own Lisa Barker will be teaching this class!
